Brain rot lore time.......
Share
So, brain rot is basically just a weird hole of off-putting memes that are AI generated (not all of them but mostly). They variate from animals to literally anything your mind could ever think of. It’s chaotic, it doesn’t really make sense, but it does put a smile on your face or at least some kind of expression. The term brain rot originated from the fact they might fry your brain if you watch too much of it. When you're watching brain rot your mind is logged out, your brain gives up, you speak in shapes, motion, colors and sound effects.
So, who (or what) are these characters? Let me take you on a journey and break these characters down for you...
🐊 Bombardino Crocodilo
Even though his name sounds like it should mean something to be honest he has no lore, no canon, no origin story — and yet, somehow, everyone knows exactly who he is. “Bombardino” is actually the name of a sweet Italian winter drink (kind of like eggnog with brandy), and “crocodilo” means “crocodile” in Portuguese. The magic of his name is not who he is and what does his name mean but how it sounds, it’s very catchy and absurd yet people love it.
Bombardino crocodilo usually appears in chaos, you’re watching a meme, things seem to be normal. Then the music drops, everything goes into slow motion, the screen starts shaking, and out of nowhere you hear:
"BOMBARDINO... CROCODILOOOOOO!"
Why is this funny?
Because it’s absurd. Completely, proudly absurd.
The internet has reached a point where things don’t need to make sense to be funny. In fact, the less they make sense, the better. Bombardino Crocodilo is funny because it sounds important, mysterious, and epic — but it’s just a nonsense phrase. There’s something inherently hilarious about pretending that gibberish is serious business.
Why do people love him so much?
Because modern internet humor thrives on overstimulation. Loud sounds, random visuals, low effort edits, and total randomness. Bombardino fits perfectly into that ecosystem. It’s short, punchy, and weirdly memorable.
🔔 What is “Tung Tung Sahur”?
At first glance his name might sound like total internet nonsense — just another catchy phrase thrown into a chaotic meme. But unlike Bombardino, this one actually comes from real life. “Tung Tung Sahur” comes from Indonesia, where during the holy month of Ramadan, people wake up before sunrise to eat a meal called sahur before fasting for the day. Traditionally, people (especially kids and teens) will walk through neighborhoods early in the morning banging pots and drums to wake others up. And they shout:
“Tung tung sahur! Tung tung sahur!”
How did it become popular?
As with all good things, the internet got its hands on it.
Someone recorded a version of the chant and boosted the audio until it sounded like your eardrums were being physically assaulted. That sound made its way into meme edits — especially the chaotic, glitchy ones — and suddenly, “TUNG TUNG SAHUR!!!” was being blasted over footage of Roblox characters, screaming goats, or Shrek falling down a staircase.
It was no longer a Ramadan wake-up call.
It became a signal of absolute nonsense.
🎶 What is “Lilili Lalira”?
“Lilili Lalira” is the most abstract of the three — it has no known meaning, no cultural background, no origin story. It’s just… a sound.
What does it even mean?
Literally? Nothing.
It’s a made-up chant, usually sung or shouted in a high-pitched, echoey voice, often layered with reverb, pitch shifts, or auto-tune. It sounds kind of magical, kind of cursed.
Where do you hear it?
In the most unexplainable edits. Videos where:
- Cats are spinning.
- Skeletons are dancing.
- The sky turns purple and someone’s doing backflips in a shopping cart.
Why is it so funny?
Because it sounds like it should be serious. It’s often delivered with this dramatic, mystical tone, like someone is casting a super powerful magic spell — but then the visuals are just something totally stupid.
